Check the facebook page for more details! 352 Media Group is a nation-wide web development company started by UF grads and based right here in Gainesville that works for major clients such as Microsoft, Ben & Jerry's and Porsche. Every semester we select talented individuals to participate in our internship program offering flexible scheduling, hands on experience, and a fun work environment. Our programmers are problem solvers who love new and exciting challenges. The only constant in our daily work is that there is always a new technology to learn or a new problem to solve. We build anything from large-scale custom e-commerce applications to social networking sites to highly interactive game-based sites. To do this, we first brainstorm with the client and project team to point out any potential trouble spots and make suggestions on how to improve the project. We then architect a plan for how to build the site in the most efficient and effective manner. Finally, we build the site using ASP.NET, C#, and a SQL Server database. The deadline to apply for the fall web programming internship program is August 2, 2010. You can find the application and learn more about our internship program on our website: www.internship.352media.com |

Hey Everyone, A representative from Qualcomm has sent me a request for student's resumes. They have expense paid VIP recruiting weekends coming up 1/22-1/24 in San Diego and 1/29-1/31 in Boulder. They are requesting that I send the "ACM resume book." However, I don't have one of these :-), so I'm suggesting that if you are interested in submitting your resume, to send an electronic (.pdf or .doc only) copy to ME (jm5 at cise - ufl - edu) by Friday, January 22nd at 5pm. Subject: Qualcomm Resume. I'll compile these and send them to the Qualcomm representative, who will be in contact with you directly if they're interested. Here's a description of the Full-time posting: Qualcomm Job Posting

Disney will be at the Career Development Workshop this Monday. Those who participated in the ACM Disney trip in November can attest to the potential this company has to offer. If you are looking for a summer internship, or a full-time job, be sure to talk with Disney. After the trip in November, I can personally say that Disney seems to treat their employees very well. The technology they're working on is advanced, and very interesting. Internships are also available on the Disney Cruise Line, which looked like an awesome opportunity. Here is a link to intern and full-time positions available with Disney. |

Pete Dobbins is teaching a new course in the spring titled, "Natural Language Processing with Python." Read more about Python and consider this course for a technical elective. Natural language processing is a huge area of research right now, in both academia and corporate research institutions, such as Microsoft. Stop by Dobbins' office hours or send him an email if you have more questions. Here is the flyer for the course |
